Calculator guide

Model subscription revenue after Stripe costs

Enter monthly price, active and new subscribers, payment-processing rates, Stripe Billing rate, monthly churn and other recurring costs.

Gross MRR is not cash profit. Payment fees, Billing fees, refunds, tax, support, infrastructure and acquisition costs may materially reduce retained revenue.

Churn is applied to the current active subscriber base. The next-month estimate adds new subscribers and subtracts expected churned subscribers.

Use cohort-level retention and actual Stripe invoices when moving from a simple forecast to a financial plan.

Formula

Model subscription revenue after Stripe costs

Net MRR = monthly price × active subscribers − payment fees − Billing fees − other monthly costs

  1. Calculate gross MRR.
  2. Calculate payment fees by percentage and per-subscriber fixed fee.
  3. Calculate Stripe Billing fee as a percentage of MRR.
  4. Subtract churned subscribers and add new subscribers for next month.

Frequently asked questions

Stripe Subscription Revenue Calculator FAQ

Should I replace the default rates?

Yes. Defaults are examples. Use the current rate and fixed fee from the marketplace, payment account or contract that applies to your country and transaction.

How accurate is the result?

The arithmetic follows the displayed formula. Accuracy depends on complete inputs, correct fee scope and consistent currency and reporting period.

Can I use another currency?

Yes. Keep every monetary input in the same currency. The calculator does not perform foreign-exchange conversion unless conversion is an explicit input.

Should taxes be included?

Follow the platform fee base and your accounting purpose. Some platforms calculate fees on tax or shipping; the guide and formula show the scope used here.

Why should I run more than one scenario?

Rates, advertising, shipping and refunds can change. A base case and a higher-cost case show how sensitive profit or payout is to those changes.

Is this an official calculator?

No. It is an independent planning tool. Confirm rates and final decisions with the linked official sources and your account statements.

Are my inputs uploaded?

No. Calculations run locally in the browser and do not require sending calculator inputs to a server.
