Calculator guide

Price an Etsy product from total cost

Enter product, shipping, packaging and other per-order costs, then add the current listing fee, transaction rate, Etsy Payments rate and fixed processing fee for your country.

Enable Offsite Ads only when the order scenario should include that charge. Etsy charges and payment-processing rates can vary by seller location, order currency, tax and advertising participation.

The calculator solves for a price after percentage fees and target margin. A target that is too high for the combined rates produces no practical price and should be revised.

Compare the recommendation with buyer expectations and competing listings, then validate fees against the Etsy Payment account after real orders.

Formula

Price an Etsy product from total cost

Recommended price = fixed order costs ÷ (1 − percentage fee rates − target margin rate)

  1. Add product, shipping, packaging, other costs, listing fee and fixed processing fee.
  2. Combine transaction, processing and optional Offsite Ads percentage rates.
  3. Subtract combined rates and target margin from one.
  4. Divide fixed costs by the remaining share.

Frequently asked questions

Etsy Pricing Calculator FAQ

Should I replace the default rates?

Yes. Defaults are examples. Use the current rate and fixed fee from the marketplace, payment account or contract that applies to your country and transaction.

How accurate is the result?

The arithmetic follows the displayed formula. Accuracy depends on complete inputs, correct fee scope and consistent currency and reporting period.

Can I use another currency?

Yes. Keep every monetary input in the same currency. The calculator does not perform foreign-exchange conversion unless conversion is an explicit input.

Should taxes be included?

Follow the platform fee base and your accounting purpose. Some platforms calculate fees on tax or shipping; the guide and formula show the scope used here.

Why should I run more than one scenario?

Rates, advertising, shipping and refunds can change. A base case and a higher-cost case show how sensitive profit or payout is to those changes.

Is this an official calculator?

No. It is an independent planning tool. Confirm rates and final decisions with the linked official sources and your account statements.

Are my inputs uploaded?

No. Calculations run locally in the browser and do not require sending calculator inputs to a server.
